estrogen for your face?
If you’re like me, you’ll try just about anything for younger looking skin.
I’ve spent countless dollars on creams, serums, botox, you name it…all in hopes of slowing down the signs of aging. But what if the real solution was simpler and you wouldn’t go broke in the meantime?
What if the answer was estrogen? We know it’s safe to use in our vaginas and gives us wonderful benefits down there, so why not on our faces too? I was curious about this so did some digging.
Turns out, there are some decent science backed studies to support this.
Did you know that 30% of dermal collagen is lost during the first 5 years of menopause? And you’ll continue to lose around 2% every year after. Loss of estrogen is responsible for a dramatic decline in skin health. This can’t be stopped completely but sure can be slowed down.
Topical estriol can help maintain skin health by increasing collagen production, retaining and restoring skin moisture, increasing skin firmness and elasticity, and decreasing pore size and wrinkle depth.
And it appears to be safe. Even if you’re not a candidate for MHT, you can use estriol face cream. Studies have confirmed that like local, topical vaginal estradiol, topical facial estriol does not increase systemic serum levels of estrogen. There are no hormonal side effects.
I decided to get on board. So far, I’m seeing positive results.
As always, check with your trusted health practitioner before you run out and slather estrogen all over your face.
Keep thriving!
